Ron has had these photos for over 70 years, this is what Ron said how and when the top 2 were taken.
Hi “Lol” I wonder in the past if I sent you these photo’s of the Manvers
Coke Ovens Ram and a view of the coal bunker from the road entrance. After
leaving school in 1948 I worked for three years at the coke ovens before doing
National service in 1951. One weekend sometime around 49/50 I took my old 116
box camera to the ovens and took these shots not knowing that in 63 years time
they could be shown around the world. These were probably not the only shots I
took as I must have taken a few more,but not many more as my roll of film only
had 8 exposures but somewhere along the line they must have got lost. Not long
after a new battery of ovens and coal bunker were built on land between the old
ovens and the bridge. What I have done as an extra is to caption info underneath
both pictures.
